DIY; Home-made facemask

Wouldn't you love to look more youthful and radiant simply using a DIY homemade face mask? I definitely do. And no, I don't mean this mask... 👇 I meant the one you slab on your face.

In this article, I'm going to show how to brighten up your face despite your skin conditions. And this includes acne, spots, scars, whiteheads, blackheads and blemishes. You can bring about the glow using any of these five methods on your face (and body if you wish).

Masking is very vital to the skin. It helps to hydrate and moisturize dry skin, enhance skin texture, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, absorb dirt and generally improve our facial look. Here are a few recipes you can do by yourself at home.

FACE MASK TO SOOTHE THE SKIN

Ingredients:
· 1 teaspoon coconut oil.
· 1 teaspoon honey.
· 2 drops of Lavender Oil.
· ¼ Avocado (ripe).

Mix the ingredients together in a clean dry bowl, use a brush to apply it on your face, and leave for 10- 15 minutes.

FACE MASK TO HYDRATE THE SKIN

Ingredients:
· 1 tablespoon of honey.
· ½ Avocado or 3 tablespoons of milk.
· 1 handful of oats.
  • Honey is a good humectant that helps our skin retain moisture. When mixed with oats, massage it on your face, it will increase tissue regeneration. Oat has moisturizing properties, this helps to soothe the skin.
  • Avocado will give your face a smooth look. Avocado can be substituted with milk when preparing this recipe.
  • Milk contains lactic acid which is suitable for exfoliating the skin.
Mix the ingredients together in a clean dry bowl, use a brush to apply it on your face, and leave for 10- 15 minutes.

FACE MASK TO IMPROVE SKIN TONE AND TEXTURE

Ingredients:
· 1 tablespoon of honey.
· 1 tablespoon of plain yogurt.
· 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder.
  • Natural yogurt contains lactic acid which removes rough surface cells and gives the face a brighter look.
  • Honey gives softness to the skin, while turmeric fights pigmentation. Mix ingredients together in a clean dry bowl, using a brush, apply the recipe on your face. Leave for 10-15 minutes.

FACE MASK TO COMBAT ACNE AND BLEMISHES

Ingredients :
· 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder.
· 1 tablespoon of Manuka honey.
· 1 teaspoon of dead sea salt.

Manuka honey is known to have great healing properties. Turmeric is a key ingredient when it comes to face masks. It's anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial. It is good to be used on acne-prone skin. Dead sea salt cleanses and reduces infection. If you are dealing with acne and other irritation or infection, this recipe is suitable for you. Mix the ingredients together in a clean dry bowl, use a brush to apply it on your face, and leave for 10- 15 minutes.

FACE MASK FOR OILY SKIN

This recipe is the best for a face with decongested pores.
Ingredients:
· ½ Avocado
· ¼ Cucumber
Avocado contains oleic acid which reduces inflammation. Avocado also regulates oil production. Mix the ingredients together in a clean dry bowl, use a brush to apply it on your face, and leave for 10- 15 minutes. Other ingredients you can add for an oily skin face masks include milk and yogurt.
Masking should be done once or twice every week. Bathing and using a good cream on your skin is essential, however masking should not be left out, it is equally as essential as moisturizing your skin with a cream. The ingredients for these recipes can easily be bought in your local store or market and at an affordable price.
