The Ultimate Lady's Guide to Great Facial Skin

Hello beautiful FAM.

Hope we are still reveling and basking in the euphoria of the New Year. As for me, the royalty ended a few hours after the crossover ... hence my serious work mode was activated. Time to get back to work!

One of the challenges I had the previous year was of skin. Meanwhile, I had beautiful, almost flawless skin all-around but sadly my face was the problem. I could never seem to get it right!  I’d have various breakouts if I was under stress or before that time of the month (damn Bloody Mary). And if I so much as tasted butter or nuts- then I’m in soup!

But above all, while we all wish to have flawless skin, free from acne and other skin conditions, this is usually not as easy as expected since we are exposed dust, sweat, germs and what have you every single day.

Acne, blackheads, whiteheads, eczema, rashes, pimples are just some of the skin infections that are common and all this can damage our confidence as a lady. So, how then do we take proper care of our skin? Is it using beauty products or frequenting the dermatologist? I know so many people who would go out of their way just to get this done.

Unfortunately, a visit to the dermatologist might be quite on the high side for a lot of individuals and the occasional spa facials usually wear off after some days. But here are guaranteed ways to bring out the best in your skin, especially the face.

HYDRATE

I’ve always said it for those who care to listen to that beauty is skin deep. Drinking the recommended eight glasses of water (or more) a day goes a long way when it comes to skincare.
Research has shown that if you drink enough water at the right time, it could aid in weight loss in the long run. But asides from hydrating your skin, drinking water consistently. This is surely the best way to maintain healthy skin.
  • flush out the toxins in your body,
  • foster healthy and glowing skin,
  • enhance blood circulation,
  • keep the skin nourished,
  • detoxifies the skin and
  • help fight common skin infections.

CLEANSE

The job of a cleanser is to remove dirt, oil, makeup, dead skin and various environmental pollution. It helps to unclog pores and prevent acne. It can be used along with the right moisturizer and toner. Choose a cleanser according to your type of skin, that is; normal, dry, combined or oily skin. Your beauty regimen is not complete without the use of the cleanser.

STEAM

Get some hot water in a bowl and place your clean face over the hot steam for 10 minutes. Tie a towel over your head to frame your face. Close your eyes while inhaling the heat. Allow the heat to awaken your face and open up your pores. Even if you don't have any skin issues, steaming is a great way to keep your skin pores clean.

EXFOLIATE

This is the removal of dead skin cells or dead layers of the skin. While steaming opens your pores, exfoliating cleans out the dirt in them. You should steam and then exfoliate to reap the full benefits just like you would if you were to go to a spa. Apply a few drops of oil such as olive oil, raw honey, egg white, coconut oil, Rose oil, Castor oil, Shea butter, Aloe Vera gel, lavender our, tea tree oil, cucumber juice and so on, helps rebuilds dead nutrients in the skin while maintaining skin moisture. Constant application of any of the stated ingredients or scrubbing twice a week gives you glowing and flawless skin. When doing this be careful you don't over-scrub your skin which may make it red or peel.

TONE AND MOISTURIZE

You should use a toner after you dry your skin. Make sure your skin has just enough water. If your skin is dry and does not have enough moisture, you may suffer from skin conditions. Dark circles, whiteheads, oily skin and other unhealthy symptoms may occur. You can get a natural moisturizer that will help moisturize your skin like honey.

USE YOUR SKIN PRODUCT PROPERLY

Have a beauty regimen. Don't sleep with your makeup on, and don't over-apply cosmetics and other basic instructions that come with your cosmetics go a long way in having healthy and flawless skin.

Alternatively, increase your vitamin intake, eat more fruits and green veggies and of course, exercise regularly. With all this, there is no chance of getting or contracting any skin illness and I'm absolutely sure that you'll get flawless skin. You don't necessarily have to go on a diet, just have a healthy lifestyle and it will unveil the true beauty that comes from within.

SAY CHEESE - SMILE

Smile of course! It takes more muscles to frown on your face than to smile so why not just laugh. It’s easier and it has more benefits. By doing so, immune function and overall health improve because you're more relaxed. When you smile or laugh your body releases endorphins. Endorphins make us feel happier and less stressed.

People that smile tend to look much younger and happier and actually healthier (which makes sense). Listen to music, spend time with family, or just watch a comedy- anything to get you smiling. After all, life is too short not to be happy.

Kindly share this post if you got any value from it and don’t forget to keep that skin looking great. Until then, take care of yourself.
