How I scaled through 2020 - My top 3 life-saving institutions

Oh wow! Just a few hours left into the New Year! WHAT A YEAR??

This really calls for a celebration. 2020 was tough! It has indeed been a crazy one right from day one, where do I even start? Regardless of the challenges, I’m glad to say that we made it to the end of the year. Hopefully, 2021 is going to be a whole lot better.

I don’t know about you but I’m one of those people that can say that 2020 turned out to be awesome. I know, I know… before you start to crucify me or ask me if I’m in my right sense, just hear me out. I mean virtually everyone, rich, poor, old, young was affected by the pandemic and other factors that cropped up during the year.

However, 2020 turned out to be a buoyant year for me, take it or leave it. But guess what? I had help! I had help from some establishments that turned out to be the best decision I ever had. And out of all the companies that made sure my sanity was intact while struggling to go throughout the year, three of them stood out the most for me on my list.

Indeed as we all know, I’m all into the health and wealth business thus making me engage in relevant bodies to help my quest in the journey. Without further ado, let me delve into my top three lifesaving organizations for me in the year auspicious 2020.
Number one on my list is ...

PIGGYVEST

PiggyVest is the first online Savings & Investment app in West Africa. It first launched as “Piggybank.ng” on the 7th of January 2016 as a savings-only platform. For 3 years, they offered ONLY savings to their users until April of 2019 when they rebranded to “PiggyVest” and then began to offer direct investment opportunities to users in addition to savings. Four years on, they continue to deliver excellent service to over 350,000 users and counting, by helping them manage their finances.

I don’t even know where to start with the awesomeness of this company. All I can say is that I wish I had started sooner. Though I joined halfway into the year, however within 2 months I was able to save close to N50k on daily direct debits and idle funds or extra cash. The app is absolutely amazing and makes it so easy to register. There's a free 1k bonus when you sign up now but I"m not sure if it's still valid.

Two months of savings

Setting up the account was easy and straightforward. All you need is your email, some personal information and you’re good to go. Decide on the type of saving and a mandate for the withdrawal. Choose the frequency you wish to save and revel in one of the best decisions you'll ever make for the year. I would totally recommend this compared to the traditional contribution (AJO) or actually the local wooden piggy bank box.

I can’t stress enough how much Piggyvest has added value to my life within a short period of time but if you’re really want to be intentional with your finances in the coming year, then Piggyvest is my number one recommendation. Join here to start your wealth journey into the new year.

The second on my list as you all know I'm all about health and wellness is ...?

RELIANCE HMO

As a former life assurance agent myself, I understand the implications of getting quality good quality health insurance. For me, health is always a priority hence one of the reasons, I started my blog. Thereby, my quest for getting a reliable and top-notch health care provider landed me with reliance HMO. It is possible to have come across some of their ads on various social media especially Facebook. Reliance HMO is a health insurance company that uses software, data science and telemedicine to make health insurance delightful, affordable and easier to access.

And with over 1.8 million worth of coverage including dental, optical, surgeries and so much more, I hardly think you can get a better deal compared with other HMOs in the country. The reviews on their pages and sites fueled my decision to partner with the company and I have to admit, so far, I haven’t been disappointed with their services.

With rising costs in healthcare, the provider goes a long way to cushion the effects of the expenses involved in health issues without breaking your bank. They have different tiers of payment which makes it convenient for various individuals and corporations to pay. Consider taking out an health insurance plan towards the new year. Last but not the least, drum roll please… is the almighty

JUMIA

Now unless you've been living under a rock for the last decade, virtually everyone knows Jumia. With millions of visitors trooping into their site daily, Jumia offers a chance to showcase your products to these vast audiences while you work or stay at home and engage in other business. Its a great side hustle for anyone to delve into. There is no special criteria to join the company.

I must come clean; Jumia has been very strict of late. And for good reasons too. Due to abuse (by both vendors and customers alike), and negative feed backs on products especially from customers, stringent measures have been put in place to make sure the whole transaction is a pleasant experience for both the vendor and the customer. Now if you don’t have the patience to follow the rules or wait for 2 weeks to collect your payments, I will not advise you to sign up with Jumia. But asides from that, I will definitely give the company a thumbs up

So there you have it! Three of top institutions that kept my sanity in check throughout 2020. And while you ponder on which of these institutions to join, remember that life is too short, enjoy every moment and make the best of it. And don’t forget to stay safe and have fun. You deserve it.

Happy new year 2021
Cheers to the year 2021.
Until then take care of yourself and kindly share, pin or tweet this post if you got value from it. See ya!
